What makes a supercar right for a holiday in Dubai
A holiday is not a track day. Most visitors drive between their hotel, Downtown Dubai, Dubai Marina, Palm Jumeirah and Jumeirah Beach Road, with traffic, speed bumps and hotel driveways along the way. The best supercar for that is comfortable at low speed, easy to see out of and still exciting on the open road.

Best overall: an open-top Lamborghini or Ferrari
From October to April the evenings in Dubai are warm and dry, and nothing suits them like a convertible. The Lamborghini Huracán Evo Spyder (640 HP V10, from AED 2,799 per day) has the sound and the shape most people picture when they think of a Dubai supercar. Both are two-seaters with little luggage space, so they suit a couple rather than a family. If you prefer a fixed roof, the Huracán Evo Coupé costs AED 2,599 and the Ferrari F8 Tributo AED 2,799 per day.
Best first supercar: easy to drive every day
If you have never driven a supercar, start with one that is forgiving. The Ferrari Portofino M (620 HP V8, AED 2,499 per day) is a four-seat convertible with a comfortable ride, a folding metal roof and a boot for weekend bags.
The Porsche 911 Turbo S (650 HP, AED 2,399 per day) is just as easy: all-wheel drive, good visibility and a ride that copes well with city streets, yet very fast when the road opens up. Every 911 is on the Porsche rental page.
On a smaller budget, the Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray Cabriolet costs AED 999 per day and the Aston Martin Vantage starts at AED 2,499.
Best for a family or a group: a super SUV
Two-seat supercars do not take child seats, and a family's luggage will not fit in them. The Lamborghini Urus (650 HP, four or five seats, from AED 2,299 per day) gives you the Lamborghini badge and performance with room for everyone, and it is the easy choice for airport pick-ups and day trips to Abu Dhabi or Hatta.

What tourists need to rent a supercar in Dubai
Bring your passport and your driving licence. Visitors whose licence was issued in the GCC, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada or the European Union can drive on it alone; visitors from other countries also need an International Driving Permit.
